Player Profiles

Ross Bell - Goalkeeper Ross has performed a starring role in the Harris side this season, letting those in front of him off the hook various times. Ross has been selected for various teams, playing in a number of positions over the years. He also excels in other sports outside football, being rated one of Scottish golf’s brightest prospects. Ross plans to pursue a scholarship in golf at Arizona next summer.

Gary Christie – Gary who can operate in the right back position or at centre back has firmly established himself as a key player in the team. He is the strongest tackler in the Harris defence and his performances against some talented attackers of other schools have been impressive.

Brian Sim – Wing back “Simmy” has played in every Harris game this season. His great left foot and pace make him a threat going forward as well as helping him in his defensive efforts.

Douglas Sturrock – Consistency has been the key to selection for Dougie this season. Although some would suggest he is being played out of position at centre half, overall he has dealt with his defensive responsibilities. Immense heading and long clearances are key characteristics of his game.

Craig Scrimgeour - “Scrimmy”, despite being two years younger than many of the other players has performed better than most when available to play. His desire and will to win is there for all to see. Could be an asset to the school team in future years.

Paul McManus – Talented central defender / midfielder who has the ability to easily gain regular selection to the Harris side.

Jon Mitchell – perhaps he should stick to short tennis.

Jamie Garvock – Jamie is undoubtedly one of the school’s most naturally gifted footballers. He has attempted to lead, what at times has appeared to be a team going nowhere. He has captained Dundee’s youth team at his age level and was recently called up for Scotland u18 trials. Despite playing behind the front, Jamie is still joint top goalscorer so far this year.

Lee Mason – Along with Jamie, Lee is amongst the most naturally gifted of the players in the side, regularly turning out for the Dundee youth side. He operates either in attack or down a wing. His lack of availability for certain games has without doubt affected the results gained. The team should move forward when he’s ready to play a fuller part.

Scott Harris – Although injury has limited Scott to only one appearance this season, if and when fit, the powerful midfielder would be well worthy of selection.

Innes Morrison – Perhaps hasn’t been given the opportunities required to make the effect on the team which his ability would allow. Has excellent versatility, surely a start must be in the offing?

James Mitchell – The playboy of the Harris side, James has done well when given the chance to play. Can operate anywhere in midfield.

Robbie Robertson – Despite being one of the youngest members of the side, Robbie has performed as well as anyone this season. His exciting displays down the wing have attracted many plaudits and he should continue to star for the Harris team over the next two years.

Ashiel Stewart-Young – the tall midfielder has done well when given a chance to play – displaying good stamina and temperament.

Steven Scott – Striker Stevie made an instant impact on the Harris side, scoring twice on his debut against Braeview. His most noticeable achievement in football was being a vital part of the league-winning Longforgan side of a few years ago. With the trickery and burning pace he possesses, Stevie must now be regarded as one of the first players on the team sheet.

Mustapha Al-Saffar – Skilful 4th year attacker who will improve as he gets to grips with the physical aspect of the game. Should play a big part in years to come.
