Achievement

March 2002

Hockey

Michael Barker 5Fa and Paul Johnstone 6Ba have been selected for the Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport Hockey Programme.  Being selected is recognised as a huge achievement as only those players considered to have the potential to go on and play hockey at the highest level are included.

Waterpolo

Susan Johnstone 1Bb has been selected for the National Ladies squad.

Football

Mark Hogg 3Ba has been selected as goalkeeper for the Scottish Boys Clubs select team.  Both Mark and Ross Adamson 3Kb represented Dundee schools in the National Trophy competition against Dumfries and Galloway.

Our girls’ teams continue to enjoy their football and have had success at local and national level.  Both junior and senior teams top their local league.  Our S1/2 team reached the semi-final stages of the Coca-Cola Tournament and enjoyed a day out at the National Stadium in Glasgow.  Our under 15 team reached the last ten of the Scottish Cup.

Rugby

Both boys’ and girls’ teams reached the finals of the Silver Jubilee tournament at Murrayfield.  Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, both finals were postponed.

Athletics

Jackie Scott 6Ba continues to perform at the highest level and won the 200m sprint at the Scottish Schools Indoor Athletic Championships.

Elizabeth McLeish 1Bb competed in the Scottish Schools Cross Country Championships at Irvine on 16 March 2002 finishing 7th from over 200 competitors.
