Achievement

April 2001

Congratulations to the latest additions to the list of Harris Pupils who have gained representative honours for their country.

A second year boy (2Cb) has been selected as a member of the Scotland Boys Football National Development Squad at Under-13 level.

For the last two years, he has played in centre-midfield for Dundee West Boys Club and, last year, was named as their "Player of the Year."

Between the 4th and 7th May, he will take part in an International Tournament held at Penicuik.  This Tournament will feature a selection of sides from Europe, along with sides from Ireland, Wales and Jersey in the Channel Islands.

An S3 boy (3Fa) sees a new sport enter the list of those where Harris pupils have achieved recognition.  For the last four years, he has played as an ice-hockey goal-tender for Perth Panthers.  His development has been recognised by his selection for the Scotland Ice Hockey Under-15 Squad.

Early in May, he will take part in a major tournament in England.  Hosted at Hull, this will feature sides from the English conferences.  This is the first occasion on which Scotland will take part in this tournament.

Congratulations and best wishes to both boys.
