On Friday, August 31, pupils from the school visited the Dundee Flower and Food Festival at Camperdown Park. The photograph shows an S1 pupil admiring a display by the Brechin and District Floral Art group.

Hopefully, more photographs will be available soon.

Raising funds for Malaysia trip

Senior pupils at Harris Academy yesterday spent the final day of the summer holidays washing cars to raise funds for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. The 20 S5 and S6 pupils were hard at work cleaning their teachers' cars in the Perth Road school's south playground while staff prepared for the new academic year, which begins today.

The group members, plus two members of the school's Biology department, are planning to go on a month-long educational trip to Malaysia next summer with organisation World Challenge, which offers a range of programmes and expeditions for young people.

Each participant is required to raise just over £3000 to attend.
