Young fencer puts
all rivals to the sword A Dundee schoolboy has proved he is a cut above his peers after slashing through the competition at the Scottish Secondary Schools Fencing Championships. The thirteen-year old, a second year pupil at Harris Academy ended victorious in all three weapons categories to become under-14s secondary schools champion in foil, epee and sabre. His dominance in the competition, which took place in Fettes College, Edinburgh, resulted in him being presented with a special Master of Arms Trophy. He is currently the highest ranked fencer for his age group in Scotland, and is ranked in the top 10 in the UK. He has also received special dispensation from his school to travel to Hungary for a week where he will sharpen his skills at the world famous Honved club.
