Three sixth year pupils at Harris Academy have been conditionally accepted into Cambridge University. Kirstin Fyffe, Catherine Zhang, and Yang Chen (all 17) have received conditional offers to attend courses in the university famed for its learning excellence, providing they perform well in their Advanced Higher subjects. The hard-working trio achieved impressive grades in their Higher examinations last year and went through a rigorous application and interview process to secure their places. Kirstin intends to study law, Yang hopes to pursue medical sciences while Catherine has received an offer for medicine. Head Teacher, Jim Thewliss, said, "We're absolutely delighted about the pupils' achievements. They are a real inspiration to the rest of the kids and living proof that anything is possible if you set your sights high." He also expressed his gratitude to ex-Harris pupil and Cambridge graduate Dr Jonathon Kobine of Dundee University, who coached the pupils through the interview process. Photograph
