December 2000

It's almost holiday time and everyone is beginning to get into the Christmas spirit.

The school has produced its traditional Christmas greeting card.

This year, our thanks go to Rachel in S6.  Copies of the school greetings card are available from the School Office or the Art Department.

Still in the spirit of Christmas...

Christmas parcels

Every year, the school encourages pupils to take an active interest in the community through its Christmas Parcel project.

The photo alongside shows junior pupils about to set off on one of many deliveries to senior citizens in the neighbourhood of the school.

A thank you to S2 for the delivery and to the rest of the school for their work to make the project possible.

Give a Dog and Cat a Dinner

For several years, Alex in S6 has promoted this appeal within the school but this year he is being assisted by Michael in S2.  It is at this time of year that the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals receives the largest number of abandoned and stray animals.  Pupils, and their parents, are invited to make a donation of pet food by depositing tins/sachets in the box provided in the crush hall. (See "Well Done" for more details of the work Alex has done in the cause of Animal Welfare.)

Remember that pictures of all the school's social events during the Christmas season can be viewed on the Pupil Web.
