Glenmore Lodge 2008

| One
of the traditional highlights of a pupil’s First Year in Harris is the
residential trip, now in Glenmore lodge youth hostel, Aviemore.
Each class spends three days and two nights there.
This year, the trips took place throughout September and early October.
While they are away, the pupils experience the beautiful surroundings of Loch Morlich and the Cairngorm mountain range. From team building to log walks, climbing walls to fact finding missions, they follow a varied programme of activities, all of which have educational value. Back at the hostel the pupils get the opportunity to take part in a formal dinner on their last evening. They observe formalities to an invited special guest of speeches of welcome to a vote of thanks. They take part in chores such as washing up and tidying their dorms and of course have the opportunity to socialise on occasion.
