Trench Warfare

As part of their Standard Grade History course, pupils are required to produce an Investigation relating to World War One.

For the past few years, the assignment was to answer the question "Why was trench warfare so costly in human lives ?"  Here are various examples of pupils' response to the question. They have not been edited by their teachers and are an accurate version of each pupil's work.
