Course Content

 The course covers topics concerning the global environment.  Units of work include –

• Mountain Landscapes

• Weather and Climate

• Industrial Studies

• Population/Development

 Pupils also have an opportunity to use a variety of information gathering and handling techniques.

Assessment

• Pupil’s progress through the course is assessed by short end of unit tests.
• Geography classes come in mixed ability groups and assessment is at Foundation, General and Credit Levels.
• Pupils sit two levels in the final exam.
• Presentation level is determined by the results of Unit assessments.

Additional Information

• Geography pupils are given every opportunity to make use of Information Technology.  (Including the department’s automatic weather station).
