Course Content

Writing
Reading/Close Reading   }  at all three levels, Credit General and Foundation
Talk
Folio containing 2 writing pieces
3 reading pieces 
(covering at least two genres : drama, poetry, prose, media)
Pupils will study a variety of literary texts, depending on the level of course.
All pupils will complete a “practice” Specialist Study in S4 in preparation for further study in English.

Talk assessed internally -  Please note that it is impossible to gain a Talk grade without completing a Solo Talk.
Please note that a Talk grade is essential in order to gain an overall grade.
Folio

assessed externally - In order to gain a final grade, it is necessary to have a completed Folio.

             
Additional Information

S3 classes are required to submit a Folio (containing the requisite pieces) which is inspected in the summer term.

While pupils may be allowed to used word-processing facilities to complete Folio pieces, teachers must be satisfied that all such work is the pupil’s own.  Pupils must have a Talk grade in order to gain a final grade.
