Course Content

• Translation: Latin language and grammar,  

• Interpretation: Study of Latin texts: poetry and prose.

• Investigation: Individual study of topic of Roman history or society.

Assessment

Translation and Interpretation:  External examination at Credit, General and Foundation

Investigation:  Externally assessed.

Additional Information

The study of Latin is intrinsically interesting and valuable.  It is useful in the modern world in the study of languages, law, medicine and any discipline which requires clear, logical thought, e.g. computing.

It is not necessary to have studied Latin in S2 to take it as a Standard Grade.
