Pupils' Insight into Business World

Pupils from Harris Academy were today taking part in a business dynamics course at the Northern College in order to give them a first-hand view of the world of industry and commerce. Around 45 senior pupils took part in the two-day course, all of whom are studying Higher Business Management. Each session is led by a working business manager and incorporates the most up-to-date Business practice.

The pupils took part in a series of activities involving exercises, case studies and business games, paying particular attention to topics such as Marketing, design and development, information technology, production and human resources and finance.

"The courses give the pupils a real understanding of what business is all about," said Kay Henderson, principal teacher of Business Education at Harris Academv. The speakers bring business alive for them, and through the participation they get a real taste of what business life could be like."

The course is sponsored by the Dundee Education industry Partnership.
