Course Content

Three main areas of study:

• The biological basis of life, including the study of cells, plant growth, heredity and the processes necessary for animal survival.
• Ecological relationships, including interactions between organisms and their environments and a consideration of the influence of humans on the environment.

• The application of biological principles to work, health and leisure activities, including the importance of biological products in industry, and the biology of health and sport.

Assessment

Work is assessed on performance in three course components:

• Knowledge and Understanding. 
• Problem Solving.

• Practical Abilities (assessed internally).
